Nove Colli Cesenatico
Nove Colli means cycling.
Nove Colli means passion.
Nove Colli means Cesenatico.
Out of the strong bonds between Cesenatico and cycling and from an idea of the local sports club Fausto Coppi (the same club to which the young Marco Pantani first belonged) 35 years ago, the Nove Colli saw the light, a cycling competition for amateur cyclists only that every year, in the month of May, sees a multicoloured mass of cyclists start off from Cesenatico (over 8,000 last year).
From the seaside town of Cesenatico, the Nove Colli competitors move quickly towards the hills of Romagna and soon find themselves tackling the gradients of the Nove Colli (Nine Hills) - from the Polenta to the grim Gorolo) - that have made the event famous throughout the world.
The cyclists can opt for two different routes: the long route - 200 km - (the "real" Nove Colli) and the shorter route - 130 km.
Moreover, for some years, in September, the Nove Colli has become Off-Road with rough roads and Mtb bikes replacing the asphalt and racing bikes for a day.
